Blessed Kitten
Today was such an adventurous day. First of all, i made a 107 on my first AP Lab exam and my parents just helped me buy a car, which is now the cause of me having to start paying for my own classes, only after paying them back for the car (so worth it!).
It was 10:30 pm and i had just picked my boyfriend, Josh, up from work after my class let out. We were riding to his house to do some more research concerning my ethnography report, when Josh yells “Look out!” I focus my sights on what looked to be a baby bunny in the road. Josh leaps from the car screaming “Its a kitten! I’ll catch it.” I certainly didnt want it getting hit considering it looked to be a few weeks old, so I turned on my flashers and pulled into a nearby driveway.
Maybe it was the rain. Maybe it was the late hour. Maybe God just doesnt want me to drive. For whatever reason, as I sit waiting for Josh and the kitten, someone hits the rear of my car. I heard a thump… Then i saw Josh come running over empty handed. As I realized what just happen, I yelled to Josh, “Get the @$!* in the car!!!” With little to no gas, I swerved around a broken mirror and I peeled my wheels, chasing the car to a stop sign that they preceded to run, as Josh jumped from my car to stop them. As he jumped back into my car, I was off again, swearing that I knew this car had a female driver. (How I hate these female drivers!!!) I followed closely, trying to read her tag through the rain, when SHE pulled into Fastop gas station. I got out calmly (which isnt normal), though I knew she had been trying to leave me with a hit and run, and asked the female if she was alright. She seemed shaken and acted as though she couldnt understand me. She could hardly speak English at all. I examined my car to find nothing wrong. Upon examining her’s, i saw her mirror was the one in the road, no doubt. she apologized and i assured her that my car and its passengers were intact. Than I simply left.
Im not positive why she tried to run. All i know is that she did and she didnt know very much English. Josh and I discussed the possibility of her not having a licence or insurance and how fortunate we were that nothing more serious had happened. Thank God for everyday and every moment.
